Holiday cheers as Devon parks welcome back beach!

Dawlish Warren Beach
Guests at two popular Devon holiday parks are celebrating this month after sandcastles were put back on the agenda following improvement work at a local beach.

Since spring 2017, Dawlish Warren beach has been a no-go area for the public, including holiday guests at nearby Dawlish Sands Holiday Park and Golden Sands Holiday Park.

The Environment Agency and local council have been putting a £14m upgrading plan into action which has seen new timber groynes and sea defences installed.

Tons of new sand has also been brought in to enhance the beach, and to ensure that there will be plenty available for sun-bathing, sandcastle and parent-burying purposes.

Now the two parks, both operated by Park Holidays UK, have given holiday guests the good news that a main section of the beach is now back in action.

And, they say, all areas should be open again by the start of the summer school holidays.

Dawlish Warren's extensive sandy beaches are a big hit with holiday guests, not least because of their long-held Blue Flag status denoting excellent standards of cleanliness.

The two parks at Dawlish Warren are within easy walking distance of each other, so visitors can take their pick from a raft of different attractions and facilities.

They include three swimming pools, two clubhouses providing first-class entertainment, all-day activities for children, and a choice of great-value dining and snacking options.

Both parks are also just a short stroll from Dawlish Warren's two miles of gently sloping sands – and within easy reach of many top Devon visitor attractions.

To help mark the re-opening of the beach, Park Holidays UK is including its two Dawlish Warren parks in a special round of pre-peak season holiday discount deals.
